The United States House Ways and Means Committee finally received former US President Donald Trump's tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on Wednesday following a 3-year-long legal battle, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"Treasury, [the parent of the IRS], has complied with last week’s court decision," a Treasury Department spokesperson shared with NBC News. Meanwhile, Committee Chairman Richard Neal told NBC that he expects "to see this [case] through."
Last week, the country's Supreme Court approved the action, rejecting Trump's appeal that would prevent the Treasury from sending the tax documents to the Committee.
