With over 97% of votes counted in Brazil's general election, former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (pictured) and incumbent Jair Bolsonaro will take part in a runoff on October 30 after neither managed to secure victory in the first round. Polls ahead of the election gave Lula a clear advantage, APA reports citing Teletrader.

Workers' Party leader Lula is in the lead with 47.89% of the vote or 55,061,367 ballots, while conservative Bolsonaro won 43.67% or 50,208,567. Simone Tebet and Ciro Gomes are the only other two out of 11 candidates to win more than 1% of the total vote, with 4.21% and 3.05% respectively.
