Commenting on Joe Biden's proposal for Congress to temporarily suspend the gas tax, United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asserted on Wednesday that the Democratic Party is united in an effort to lower gasoline prices, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We will see where the consensus lies on a path forward for the president's proposal in the House and the Senate, building on the strong bills to lower prices at the pump already passed by House Democrats," Pelosi said in an official statement.
Meanwhile, the White House confirmed it has been discussing a potential tax cut bill with legislators. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm also announced that the administration could use the Defense Production Act to bring more refining capacity.
