Former United States President Donald Trump and the Department of Justice submitted separate lists of candidates for the position of "special master," a third-party official who is supposed to inspect documents the FBI seized in the raid on the ex-president's Florida home in August, APA reports citing CNN.

Trump nominated former Chief Judge of the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York Raymond Dearie and former Deputy Attorney General for the State of Florida Paul Huck Jr. Meanwhile, the DoJ picked retired Judge of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York Barbara Jones and retired Circuit Judge of the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit Thomas Griffith.

The two sides presented differing positions on which documents should be reviewed, with the DoJ seeking that papers with classification markings be omitted in the inspection. Trump wants all documents included in the analyses by the special master.
