Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva met on Monday with his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro in Brazil's capital after making his first visit to the country since 2015, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The two presidents were expected to sign bilateral agreements later today, discuss Venezuelan debt, and participate in a summit attended by ten South American heads of state and a representative from the Peruvian government.
The South American leaders are about to launch a regional cooperation bloc, replacing the UNASUR organization established in 2008 as a counterweight to the United States' influence in the region.
