White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre answered questions on Tuesday about the classified documents, saying the Biden office will not "politically interfere" with proceedings and any queries should be aimed at the Special Counsel and Department of Justice (DOJ), APA reports citing Teletrader.

The press secretary insisted that President Joe Biden is "fully cooperating" with the DOJ and that he has confidence in his team.

Earlier in the day Biden's lawyer said that the documents were inadvertently misplaced and that the president acted promptly after discovering them.

The finding of the documents at Biden's personal residence has come under much scrutiny as the White House continues to battle difficult questions from the press and opposition party.
