WHO has registered cases of hepatitis of unknown origin in children in 12 countries

As of April 21, the organization reported at least 169 such cases in 11 countries in the WHO European Region and one in the US region, APA reports citing 24 Happenings.

Most of these cases – 114 – were reported in the UK. As specified, the age of the patients varies from 1 month to 16 years. Experts could not diagnose hepatitis A, B, C, E and D in any of these cases, with adenovirus reported in 74 people, SARS-CoV-2 in 20 people, SARS-CoV-2 and adenovirus in 19 people. .

WHO reported at least one death, with approximately 10% of patients requiring liver transplantation.
