U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced the creation of the Constitutional Committee of Syria, APA reports citing TASS.
According to him, the committee will begin work in the coming weeks in Geneva.
"I am pleased to announce an agreement between the Syrian government and the Syrian negotiation committee to create a balanced, credible and inclusive Constitutional Committee," the Secretary-General told reporters. "The Committee will meet in Geneva in the coming weeks,”
The UN Secretary-General thanked Russia, Turkey, and Iran for their efforts to organize the constitutional committee.
