"Some of the mosques restored in Azerbaijan’s Shusha city may operate as museums," first Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations Sayyad Salahli said while answering APA’s question.

First Deputy Chairman stressed that it will add special beauty to Shusha as well: “Mainly, these mosques will operate accordingly. However, as I noted, there may be mosques that can be used as museums. This in itself will add additional beauty to Shusha”.

“We will try to restore all the mosques in Karabakh and Shusha. The point is that fearing the condemnation of the world community, the Armenians could not destroy and wipe out the Govhar Agha Mosque, the Aghdam Mosque, and some other mosques of Azerbaijan from the world. But there are mosques that were destroyed. They demolished it to their foundation and took away the stones. We will also restore these mosques,” said S.Salahli.

State Committee on Religious Associations of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA that First Deputy Minister Sayyad Salahli considered the possibility of establishing a museum reflecting Armenian vandalism, crimes, committed by Armenians, especially brutality against our historical-religious monuments in the capital of culture Shusha with facts in his statement.
