Georgia hosted an exhibition and conference dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Nizami Ganjavi, APA's local bureau reports.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia Faig Guliyev, who spoke at the event jointly organized by Tbilisi State Academy of Arts and Mirza Fatali Akhundzadeh Museum of Azerbaijani Culture, said that Nizami Ganjavi is highly respected in Georgia.
The ambassador stressed the close cooperation between the Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Singer, film actor, laureate of Georgian state awards Vakhtang Kikabidze, author of sculptures of Bulbul in Tbilisi sculptor Giorgi Caparidze, honorary professor of Azerbaijan State Academy of Arts, director of Georgian National Museum David Lordkipanidze and other Georgian artists were awarded badges on the 880th anniversary of Nizami Ganjavi.
