A highly pathogenic "bird flu" has been detected in swans in the Feridonkenar wetland area in the northern Iranian province Mazandaran, said Kurush Rabii, Director of the Environmental Control Department of Iran's Mazandaran Province, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.

He said that the results of the analysis of the swan that died in the wetland area on December 5 were positive. Two more swans were found dead in the area yesterday.
