A car of a Russian diplomatic mission was blown up in Afghanistan, APA's Moscow correspondent reports quoting the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The car of the diplomatic mission near the Russian embassy in the capital Kabul was blown up by an improvised explosive device.

As a result, the staff of the diplomatic mission in the car received a minor concussion.

According to preliminary reports, the target was a pickup truck of the Afghan National Security Forces in front of the diplomatic mission's car. However, it is not ruled out that Russian diplomats were attacked.

Russia has demanded that Afghanistan thoroughly investigate the incident and take measures to ensure the safety of embassy staff.
