“Turkey will continue its support to defense of rights of other ethnic groups, including Turks living in Iraq and Syria without a discrimination,” said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, who is on a visit to Ankara, APA’s bureau in Turkey reports.

He said that according to the agreement, reached since 2009, mutual movement between Turkey and Iraq was provided without a visa, but visa regime will come into force again, as activity of ISIS, PKK, YPG terrorism organizations has increased: “ISIS keeps under control Iraq by 40%, Syria by 50%. Certainly, Iraq gained a great victory in the fight against ISIS. But we still have concern regarding the terror. That is why we had to apply visa regime again, although it is not favorable for us from an economic and tourism point of view.”
