“We are in contact with UNESCO. In addition to namaz, Aya Sofya will be open for visits”, said Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu at the joint press conference with his Spanish counterpart Arancha Gonzalez Laya, APA’s local bureau reports.
“It is not possible to understand the reaction of Greece. This is Turkey’s sovereign issue. The flag-burning and other puny actions suit them. Everybody should respect the decision adopted by us. We will again continue to protect Aya Sofya just the same way as we have been doing this from 1453 until today”, the head of the Turkish MFA noted.
