China's National Space Administration (CNSA) confirmed on Wednesday that it conducted a successful lunar probe called Chang'-e 5. The probe already sent the first images from the Moon's surface and will continue sending information for a total of 48 hours, APA reports citing Reuters.

CNSA added that the work lays a foundation for a manned Moon landing.

The event marked China's third successful Moon probe.
