Turkish emergency services continue rescue operations in Sivrice and other cities after a powerful earthquake rattled the eastern part of the country, APA reports citing Sputnik.
According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), a strong 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Turkey at 17:55:10 GMT on 24 January. The earthquake was felt in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Israel. On 25 January, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake followed, hitting Elazig Province, the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute reported.
