India's Health and Family Welfare Ministry said the number of COVID-19 infections registered during the day in the country landed at 56,282 on Wednesday, marking a record high for the South Asian nation, APA reports citing Teletrader.
After the new cases are added India's total infection count reached 1,964,536. In the meantime, the country's coronavirus death toll increased to 40,699 after health authorities confirmed 904 additional virus-related fatalities during the day.
On the other hand, the number of recoveries from the disease rose by to a total of 1,328,336.
