Jordan, Iraq report more COVID-19 cases, deaths

Health officials in Jordan and Iraq on Monday confirmed more coronavirus infections and deaths from COVID-19.

With 3,509 new infections and 62 deaths in Jordan, the overall caseload rose to 689,482, including 8,308 virus-linked fatalities.

As many as 644,486 patients have won their battle against the virus.

Iraq

Another 45 people died in the past 24 hours, pushing fatalities to 15,026.

With 7,775 new infections, the caseload rose to 984,950. A total of 864,039 recoveries have been recorded.

Worldwide

Since first being detected in Wuhan, China in December 2019, the pandemic has claimed over 3.02 million lives in 192 countries and regions.

More than 141 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries now over 81 million, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
