A 4.0-magnitude quake hit Sivrice, a town in Turkey's eastern Elazig province, the Kandilli seismology centre in Istanbul said, APA reports citing Sputnik.

The quake occurred at a depth of 1.5 kilometres.

Earlier this month, Turkey's Elazig province was hit by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake, which claimed the lives of 41 people and left more than 1,000 injured.
