Kyrgyzstan to hold parliamentary elections on Oct. 4

President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov has signed a decree to hold parliamentary elections on Oct. 4, APA reports citing Xinhua.

The press service of the Kyrgyz president said that in accordance with the decree, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has been instructed to organize elections in accordance with the legislation of the country.

The government has been instructed to allocate necessary financial resources for the election in accordance with the budget approved by the CEC.

Meanwhile, the cabinet has been instructed to take necessary measures to ensure the legality, rights and freedom of citizens, as well as sanitary and epidemiological safety measures, while organizing the elections.

The parliament of Kyrgyzstan consists of 120 deputies, elected for a five-year term by party lists.

The previous parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan were held on Oct. 4, 2015.
