The number of coronavirus patients placed in hospitals in Iran’s Eastern Azerbaijan region has risen from 40 people per day to 150-170 people per day, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
Deputy minister of Health of Iran Iraj Harirchi said the coronavirus spread trend in Eastern Azerbaijan region is higher that the average indicator for the whole country.
According to him, the coronavirus spread trend continued to increase countrywide during the recent two weeks, and two-fold growth is observed in a number of regions.
As the Eastern Azerbaijan region is considered one of the tourist regions, the coronavirus is spreading here more intensively.
