Saudi Arabia is the latest country to greenlight the COVID-19 vaccine candidate developed by Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE, APA reports citing Teletrader.

According to the release, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority okayed the registration of the formula, which will now be imported and distributed across the country's hospitals. The Middle Eastern country registered about 360,000 positive cases and 6,000 coronavirus-related fatalities since the start of the pandemic.

The vaccine has already been approved by regulators in the United Kingdom and Canada, while the United States Food and Drug Administration is expected to announce its decision later today.
