Twin suicide attack killed 35, injured about 100 in Baghdad - UPDATED-2

The number of people killed in a terrorist attack in the center of Baghdad on Thursday has risen to 35, said Iraqi sources, adding that about 100 people have been injured, APA reports citing Al Arabiya TV channel.

The channel informed earlier that two blasts were heard at a central square in Baghdad where a market is located. According to an Iraqi army official, "the terrorist attack was committed by two suicide bombers who blew themselves up when they were chased by law enforcement officers."

Two loud blasts had been heard today Thursday in Baghdad resulted in at least 28 dead and more than 73 injuries, APA reports.

A Security source told Shafaq News Agency, that two blasts hit Bab al-Sharqi district in the capital Baghdad.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
