Tajikistan has been included into the list of countries that requested COVID-19 vaccine through global mechanism for pooled procurement and equitable distribution of eventual COVID-19 vaccines COVAX, APA reports citing AKIPress.
The countries that joined the program will be able to obtain coronavirus vaccines in the first half of 2021.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan has set up a technical working group comprised of national experts and representatives of international organizations for preparation for coronavirus vaccination.
The working group identified a target group that will be vaccinated against coronavirsu infection. It included 1.8 million people or 20% of country population. The group includes medical workers, teachers, citizens above 50 years and people with chronic non-communicable diseases.
