A foreign national Daesh/ISIS suspect, arrested by Turkish police teams last month in northern Turkey, was detained, security sources said on Monday, APA reports citing Anadolu Agency.

Police teams in the Black Sea province of Samsun launched simultaneous operations at 13 addresses in Ilkadim, Canik, and Carsamba districts of Samsun on Jan. 22 and arrested 14 foreign nationals over suspected links to the Daesh/ISIS terror group, said the source on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

During the operation, four Syrian and 10 Iraqi nationals who were active within the terror group were arrested. Digital materials were also seized at the suspects’ addresses, the source noted.

Three of the suspects have recently been deported and security process has been completed for the remaining 11 suspects, with eight of them to be deported as well, said the source.

One of the three suspects who were transferred to the court was detained, while the other two were released on condition of judicial control.
