The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Turkey has commented on the statements voiced by the head of the National Libyan Army, general Khalifa Haftar on April 27 regarding his taking Libya under control, the Turkish MFA told APA’s local bureau.
Haftar’s statement regarding his taking Libya under control has once again demonstrated his disinterestedness in a solution of the current crisis in the country through political dialogue, his non-support for the international efforts in this area including results of the Berlin summit and his setting a goal of establishing a military dictatorship in the country.
It is noted that Kh. Haftar has been causing further deterioration of the situation in Libya for more than one year.
“This person whose intention to establish a junta regime in Libya doesn’t raise anybody’s suspicion already should be immediately given a proper response by the international community. Turkey will continue to stand side by side with the brotherly Libyan people in order to defend the Libyan National Accord Government and other legitimate institutions and to support the political ways of solution of the crisis”, the Turkish MFA stated.
It has been noted that more than a year Haftar has caused further deterioration of the situation in Libya.
“The necessary response without delay has to be given by the international community to this person that nobody doubts he intends to establish a junta regime in Libya. Turkey will continue to stand by the brotherly people of Libya and to support political solutions in order to protect the Libyan Government of National Accord and other legitimate institutions,” the Turkish MFA said.
