Rouhani: Iranian nation disappointed enemies

Iran's President Hassan Rouhani hailed the vigilance of the Iranian nation in foiling the plots hatched by enemies and people emerged victorious from yet another historic test, APA reports citing IRNA.

Addressing the Wednesday session of the cabinet, he said this in itself showed that despite economic problems and herds of managing in the country, people will never let certain elements to served the interests of enemies.

He further praised the great Iranian nation for their vigilance.

He added that the Iranian people are well aware that the main goal of the government is self-sufficiency in energy supply so that we do not need to import it and be able to properly execute and consume the energy we need to produce properly as well as a certain amount. Implementing justice in society means that fuel subsidies require more people than needy people.

Recent protests against the government's gas price rise led to chaos through attacks on public and private properties.
