A 6.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded southwest of the Indonesian island of Sumatra on Friday, said the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), APA reports citing Teletrader.
The tremor was marked at a depth of 2 kilometers at 8:37 pm local time, based on the data provided by EMSC. The epicenter was 448 kilometers south of Padang, the capital of Indonesia's West Sumatra province, and 211 kilometers southwest of Bengkulu.
