The city of Chengdu in China's southwest Sichuan province will conduct mass coronavirus testing from November 23 to November 27 as Beijing continues to pursue its controversial "zero-Covid" policy, according to an official government announcement, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The move comes as the country looks to detect infections to stop further transmission of the virus, the city officials said.

Residents of Chengdu are also still ordered to stay indoors, together with millions of other people in the country as China's policies require cities to enter strict lockdowns after just a few cases of the virus are reported.
