Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan has announced the number of dead and injured as a result of riots that occurred in Kazakhstan, APA reports citing Kazakh media.
Serik Shalabayev, head of the Criminal Prosecutor's Office of the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan, said that 225 people died as a result of the riots.
"So far, identities of 4,578 victims have been identified, 4 353 of them, as well as employees of law enforcement agencies were injured. During the state of emergency, 225 dead were taken to the morgues of the country,"Serik Shalabayev noted.
He also added that there are 19 police and servicemen among the dead.
