International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi has met with the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, in Tehran, APA reports citing the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Friday.
The meeting took place a few hours after Grossi arrived at the Iranian capital, according to the report. The details of the conversation haven’t been released yet.
The IAEA director general came to Tehran on Friday. He was met at the airfield by the official spokesman of the AEOI, Behrouz Kamalvandi.
The news agency Fars reported on Thursday that Grossi was set to meet with Iranian officials in Tehran to discuss various issues. The Euronews television channel said the IAEA chief planned to meet with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss restarting the talks on the Iranian nuclear deal. The Al Hadath television channel reported on Friday that Grossi intended to raise with the Iranian officials the issue of increasing the number of IAEA representatives that inspect Iran’s nuclear facilities.
