The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said two infantry companies are being sent to municipalities close to the West Bank security barrier as well as the Jerusalem region to support local police, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The military informed the public that the companies are of two brigades currently in basic training and that the soldiers will be deployed on Monday.
The news comes after several deadly shootings occurred amid unrest in East Jerusalem, where Palestinians are reportedly continuing to clash with Israeli police.
