Iran deploys armored vehicles on Iraq border

Iran deploys armored vehicles on the western and northwestern borders of the country, said Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Forces, APA's Tehran bureau reports.

He said that following the riots of separatist anti-Iranian terrorist groups in the northwest of the country, the ground forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps strengthened their forces in the country's border region with Iraq and are deploying armored vehicles for security.

"At present, some armored units and special forces of the Ground Forces have left for the border provinces in the west and northwest of the country (Kurdistan and western Azerbaijan provinces-Iraq border). This step aims to strengthen the units located on the border and prevent terrorist groups located in the northern region of Iraq from entering the country," he said.
