"We see Armenia's security as the security of Iran," said Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iranian Foreign Minister during a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan, APA reports.
"I'm pleased that we will witness the Iranian Consulate General in Gafan reopen during this visit. This development is another factor contributing to the deepening of Iran and Armenia's historical ties," he said.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry's head highlighted that they have made it clear that it opposes any geopolitical border changes in the Caucasus region.
"We consider the security of Armenia as the security of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the region."
Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran opposes the presence of foreign forces in the region, including in Armenia.
