"Russia noted that it is ready to fund the Rasht-Astara railway project for its completion," said Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Reza Fatemi in his statement to APA while announcing the last situation regarding the North-South Corridor.
He noted that it was decided to complete the Rasht-Astara railway at the expense of local funds, but alongside this, a discussion was also conducted with Russia in this regard: "Russia officials seriously noted that they want to join this project during their last visits".
He noted that during the last 3 years, 30% of the potential of the North-South Corridor: "The cargo was transported from Southeast Asia to Bandar Abbas, then to the port of Amirabad, and then to other regions, including Russia".
