"The issue of Lake Urmia is very important not only for the city of Urmia and West Azerbaijan but also for region and country," said Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi while his speech at the event in the city of Urmia on the sidelines of his visit to the West Azerbaijan Province, APA reports citing Anadolu Agency.
President has noted that one of the main purposes of the visit is elimination of the process.
Iranian President has also brought to attention that drying up the Lake Urmia caused protests in the region.
