Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is making his first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's special military operation in the country, APA reports citing Teletrader.

The prime minister will on Tuesday meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The visit is also significant as it will be the first by an Asian member of the Group of Seven (G7) and the first by a US ally in the region.

His trip comes after Chinese leader Xi Jinping's visit to Russia, which was seen by the West as a show of support for Moscow.
