Military aircrafts crashed in India, left dead and injured-UPDATED

Two Indian Air Force fighter jets crashed Saturday in an apparent mid-air collision while on exercises around 300 kilometres (185 miles) south of the capital New Delhi, police at the crash site told the media, APA reports citing Gulftoday.

"We have located the wreckage of one of the planes and found 1 dead and 2 injured pilot in the Parhadgarh forests," officer Dharmender Gaur told the media.

Two fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Sukhoi 30 and Mirage 2000, have crashed in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, APA reports citing the Republic World.

Sources have revealed that the two aircraft had taken off from the Gwalior air base where an exercise was going on. The crash is said to have taken place near Pahadgarh.

Rescue operations are currently underway, said the local police. According to sources, two pilots are injured in the crash. Preliminary reports also suggest that an IAF helicopter is reaching the location of the third pilot.

"IAF court of inquiry to establish whether there was a mid-air collision or not. The Su-30 had 2 pilots while Mirage 2000 had one pilot during the crash. Initial reports suggest 2 pilots are safe while an IAF chopper reaching the location of the 3rd pilot soon," said Defence Sources.
