Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Thursday with NATO Deputy Secretary General Geoana, it was revealed in a statement posted on the website of the Israeli government, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We have excellent relations with NATO and excellent cooperation, and I look forward to increasing it even further," Netanyahu commented. He added that although there are a lot of opportunities, there are still a lot of challenges as well. He named Iran as one of the main issues.
Geonana stated that NATO shares many of the same concerns Israel has. "We see authoritarian regimes like Iran and North Korea and Russia posing challenges to our security both in Europe and also in the Middle East. I'm here to reconfirm the strong interest that we have in building upon the exceptional technological sophistication of your great nation," he asserted.
