S. Korea COVID-19 cases fall to lowest in 11 weeks

New cases of COVID-19 in South Korea dropped to the lowest in 11 weeks, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday, APA reports.

The country registered 29,353 new COVID-19 infections, including 306 from abroad, bringing the total number of cases to 24,594,336, while deaths fell by five to 63, putting the death toll at 28,140.

The figures come before authorities of the country scrap the outdoor mask mandate on sports events and concerts, which will happen officially on Monday.
