South Korea will sell artillery shells to the United States, which will then be sent to Ukraine, APA reports citing the Wall Street Journal.

Unnamed US officials said Washington will buy around 100,000 rounds of 155 mm artillery after stockpiles of the shells in the US "had fallen to levels that concerned the Pentagon."

South Korea's official stance is that it will not directly supply Ukraine with lethal military equipment. The report follows accusations from the US claiming that North Korea is sending a "significant" amount of artillery to Russia, which Pyongyang denied.
