Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced that the most important high-level administrator of the ISIS terrorist organization has been detained, APA reports.

Reported that the terrorist Bashar Khattab Ghazal al-Sumaidai, whose secret name is "Abu Zeid/ Ustath Zeid", was caught by the security forces in Turkiye.

President Erdoğan said in an interview with journalists on the plane while returning from the trip to the Balkans that the General Directorate of Security, the Istanbul Police Department and the MIT Presidium conducted an operation against ISIS.

Erdoğan noted that after the deaths of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and his replacement, Abdullah Kardash, this terrorist is one of the terrorist group's most prominent senior officials.

"This terrorist's contacts in Istanbul and Syria have long been observed, and intelligence reports indicated that he will enter Turkiye illegally. Istanbul security units found the terrorist hiding and using a fake ID card.”

President Erdoğan said that the arrested ISIS terrorist was handed over to the judicial authorities on the instructions of the Istanbul Public Prosecutor's Office after the inquiry of the National Intelligence Organization and the Istanbul Police Department.
