The South Korean government confirmed on Tuesday that the country would launch its homegrown space rocket Nuri at 4:00 pm local time this afternoon, APA reports citing Yonhap.

The Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) earlier said that the 200-ton Nuri would blast off from the Naro Space Center in the southern coastal village of Goheung.

The lift-off was scheduled for last Thursday after a failed attempt last year. However, a technical issue related to the oxidizer tank sensor prompted a slight delay. South Korea would become the seventh country worldwide to have developed a space rocket that can carry large satellites if today's launch is successful.
