Three explosions targeting schools rock Kabul, 25 students killed-UPDATED

Three explosions rocked a high school in western Kabul on Tuesday, killing several people, according to Afghan security and health officials, APA reports citing India Today.

Many residents in the neighbourhood belong to the Shia Hazara community, an ethnic and religious minority frequently targeted by Sunni militant groups, including Islamic State.

"Three blasts have taken place ... in a high school, there are some casualties to our Shia people," said Khalid Zadran, the spokesman for Kabul's commander.

The head of a hospital nursing department, who declined to be named, said at least four people had been killed and 14 wounded in the blasts.

Two blasts occurred in Kabul on Tuesday, targeting Mumtaz school and Abdul Rahim-e-Shahid High School in the capital's Dasht-e-Barchi district., APA reports Mehr News Agency.

'Six people died and dozens were injured," the source said, according to Sputnik.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

The explosion hits the Afghan capital just two weeks after another powerful blast killed one and injured up to 60 people in the city.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
