Turkish-made "Hurjet" fighter jet will take its first flight in 2023, said Ismail Demir, Chief of the Defense Industry Department, APA reports citing NTV.
"A line is being set up for the production of the first components of the aircraft. "In 2023, we will take our national fighter jet out of the hangar and make its first flight," Demir said.
Earlier, the head of the Defense Industry Department said that Hurjet will be superior to American F-35 fighter jets in terms of performance.
The Turkish fighter was developed in 2017.
