Turkiye invited NATO to support it in the fight against terrorism-UPDATED

The meeting of the National Security Council chaired by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has ended, APA’s Istanbul correspondent reports.

A written statement was made to the press about the results of the meeting.

It was noted that Ankara invited its NATO allies to stand by and support Turkiye in the fight against FETÖ and PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG terrorist organizations.

In addition, it was emphasized that efforts will be resolutely continued to completely eliminate the treason network cooperating with terrorist organizations.

At the meeting, it was stated that, along with the provocative actions of Greece, it is unacceptable for the country to continue to violate water and air space.

In the end, the National Security Council discussed the conflict between Russia and Ukraine:
"We reiterate our call for a comprehensive ceasefire to be reached as soon as possible before causing more deaths and destruction, and in this context, we declare that Turkiye will continue its efforts towards the establishment of lasting peace and the solution to the problem that has become a global food crisis."

Meeting of Turkiye's National Security Council is being held under the chairmanship of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, APA reports ciitng NTV.

New anti-terrorist operation planned in the north of Syria will be discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, the war in Ukraine, as well as the creation of a grain corridor from Ukraine by sea will be discussed.
