A senior Ukrainian official has extended his president's invitation for Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio to visit the country at his convenience, APA reports citing NHKWorld-Japan.

The head of Ukraine's presidential office, Andriy Yermak, announced on Wednesday that he had made the offer during his meeting with Japanese Ambassador Matsuda Kuninori.

Yermak used the talks to congratulate Japan on assuming this year's presidency of the Group of Seven framework.

He noted, "Regular dialogue of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with the heads of state and government of the G7 has proven to be one of the most effective mechanisms for coordinating the efforts of the international community in countering Russian aggression."
