Minsk-2019: Azerbaijan becomes 17th of Europe, 4th of the former USSR

The number of participants in the II European Games to be held in Minsk, Belarus, has been announced, APA reports.

It was announced that the continent's biggest sports forum will feature athletes 3763 from 50 countries who will compete for 200 sets of medals in 15 sports.

France is the leader for the number of athletes who will compete in the Minsk-2019. The French team will be represented by 281 athletes in the capital of Belarus.

Russia stands in second place with 56 athletes less than the leader. The host country stands in the third place that will be represented by 221 athletes.

80 athletes will represent the Azerbaijani squad in the esteemed sport event to be held for the second time. The Azerbaijani national squad is 17th of Europe, 4th of the former USSR for the number of the athletes.

Note that the Minsk-2019 II European Games will end on June 30.
