Azerbaijan won another gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games, APA reports.

This morning Azerbaijani athlete Elvin Astanov won a gold medal in nuclear push-ups and set a new world record with a result of 8.77 meters.

This is the second record set by Azerbaijani athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Paralympic Games.

With the victory of E. Astanov, the number of gold medals won by Azerbaijan in the team event reached 8, and our country ranked 6th in terms of the number of medals.

It should be noted that Hamid Heydari won the seventh gold medal in javelin yesterday. He also set a new world record with a result of 51.42 meters.
