Commission: Armenia doesn’t respond to proposals regarding release of Azerbaijani war prisoners, return of corpses

Chairman of the State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Citizens Ali Nagiyev and other authorized persons said at the meetings with the head of the Azerbaijani Representation of the International Red Cross Committee (IRCC) held after the time of reaching of the humanitarian ceasefire agreement on October 10, 2020, in Moscow that the Republic of Azerbaijan is ready for mutual exchange of corpses of the killed military servicemen related to both parties, even for the unilateral return of a part of corpses of the Armenian military servicemen, as well as for the simultaneous release of 2 Armenian military servicemen and 2 civilian persons retained in Azerbaijan and 2 Azerbaijani hostages being on the opposite side, the State Commission told APA.

At the same time, it was brought to the notice that the Azerbaijani side is also ready for the unilateral release of the Armenian woman aged 85 who was left in the combat region when the Armenian armed forces were retreating.

Despite the aforementioned, so far, the Republic of Armenia hasn’t responded to proposals of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the release of war prisoners and the retained persons and return of corpses.
